Early 2004 my youngest sister began planning her wedding. She asked me to be her maid of honor and so we began our journey into the extravaganza of wedding shopping. We wanted to keep it simple but elegant. As we surfed the net and scoured through magazines , we noticed that brides were replacing traditional flowers and bouquets with crystals, and people cake toppers were now crystallized monogrammed toppers.
I couldn't believe how magnificent and beautiful this new trend was.
The crystals added such pizzazz to these weddings.
I had been working from home and trying to find a venue to support my family. This seemed like a heaven sent opportunity. I did some more research and not only found that there are 3 million weddings a year; there was a great demand for "bling bling" weddings. I was having so much fun helping my sister planning and create her wedding!!! I knew I could do this full time, have fun doing it and with God's blessing I would be able to support my wonderful family.
And The Crystal Topper was born! It has been an exciting ride and an answer to my prayers.
I am elated each day because I get the pleasure of creating something uniquely special for couples that are just starting their lives together…
Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I place my order?
Because all my products are custom manufactured and made by hand, it usually will take somewhere between 6 and 8 weeks from the time your order is placed to the when your order arrives at your door.
Do you accept rush orders?
Yes I do! As I stated, it takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks to complete your order from the time your payment is received, but in some cases it may be necessary to rush an order. I am willing to work with you to ensure that your purchase gets to you before your special day. Please don’t hesitate to contact me, with questions and a time frame. If for any reason I feel that I cannot customize your order in time, I will contact as soon as possible and issue you a full refund. A $50 fee will be added to the base shipping price to cover rush shipping.
When should I place my order?
There are only a few things that you can do early in your wedding planning. Once you have your color scheme picked out, I suggest you place your order. Remember, it can take up to 8 weeks for me to custom manufacture, hand crystallize and ship your purchase.
What type of material are your toppers made out of?
My toppers are made from 1/8" thick silver brushed metal. They come with removable spikes look great from the back (unlike acrylic) and it never breaks! If you want, after the wedding you can take the topper and hang it on a wall or place it in a shadowbox along with some of your other treasured items from your special day!
Do you use 100% Swarovski Crystals on your toppers?
You bet! All my cake toppers are made from 100% Swarovski crystals. I have found that these crystals are the most stunning. Each crystal has a beautiful way of catching the light and will add a unique glitter to your cake. Nothing shines quite like a Swarovski!
How many custom colors can I add to my cake topper?
You can have up to 4 custom colors added to your cake topper. The base price includes the clear Swarovski crystals (diamond like). If you would like for me to incorporate more than one color, there will be an additional $5 charge per extra color on either single monogram or multiple monograms pieces.
Can I get my crystal topper partially covered? Is it less expensive?
Yes, I will be happy to make your crystal topper partially covered. Unfortunately these toppers are the same price as my fully covered ones. The reason for this is simple; it actually takes more time to create. I take a lot of pride in my designs and when I need to partially cover a topper I like to make sure the crystals flow nicely with the letter. It is especially important when there is more than one letter or multiple designs to ensure the partially covered topper looks like a set.
Are there different size letters I can choose from?
All letters can be ordered in 2”, 2.5”, 3”, 3.5”, 4”, 4.5”, 5”, 5.5”, 6” and 7”.
Can you help me decide what size topper I should order?
What you should consider is the size of the top tier. Usually the width of the top cake tier is 4 or 6 inches with the majority being 6 inches. I suggest a mid range size of 5 inches for your topper. This size will ensure that the width of the letter does not go over the edges of your cake!
What is your policy on changes?
For the custom monogram toppers, font and height changes are not possible once the order has been placed. In order for me to make sure you receive your topper before your wedding day, I send in the custom order soon after your order is place. Although, I can sometimes change the color choice, as long as your request is received within 2 or 3 weeks of your order. Contact me to see if I can still work with yours and if you need any suggestions.
What is your return policy?
If an item is damaged during shipping or has a defect, I will replace the item(s) or you will receive a full refund. On custom Swarovski cake topper orders: I will issue a full refund, if you are not 100% satisfied within 10 business days.
Do you combine shipping?
Of course! I am willing to work with my clients at any time, please contact me for a quote.
Do you ship outside the US?
Yes, I will ship your items anywhere, per your request. I am delighted to offer my products internationally! Please note that there are additional charges for orders shipped outside the US, these charges will be automatically adjusted when placing your order. Also, there may be some import charges assessed by your country that you may be responsible for. Please consider shipping time overseas, depending on the service requested it can be anywhere from 5-15 days.
What payment methods do you accept?
I prefer PayPal as a means of payment. You do not have to sign up with Paypal to pay with your credit card. However, I do understand if you are not comfortable sending payments over the Internet. I do accept money orders and on rare occasions I will take a personal check for payment. Please note that work on your order cannot begin until your personal check has cleared and may delay shipping by 1-2 weeks.
Do you give discounts or wholesale?
I will be happy to offer a discount on shipping for large orders only. Contact me for more information. I do not wholesale my items.
